Ordering a Custom Electric Gate: Step-by-Step Workflow
t280-48

To order a custom electric gate, you send an inquiry with photos, we measure the opening on site, prepare a written drawing and specification, and you approve it before production starts. The gate is then built to measure in our Tel Aviv factory, finished, and installed at your property.
Step 1: Send Your Inquiry with Photos
The first step is a short inquiry describing what you need. Tell us whether you want a sliding or swing gate, the approximate width of the opening, and whether the gate will be for a private driveway, a building entrance or a parking area.
Photos help a lot. Send a picture of the opening from the street side and one from the inside, plus any nearby walls, posts or slopes. This lets us spot space limitations early and suggest the right gate type before anyone travels to the site.
Step 2: On-Site Measurement
Next, our team visits the property to measure the opening, the ground level, and the surrounding structures. Accurate measurements are the foundation of a gate that fits and operates smoothly.
- Clear width and height of the opening
- Ground slope and surface type
- Position of the motor housing and power supply
- Space needed for a sliding track or the swing arc
Step 3: Drawing and Written Specification
After the measurement, we prepare a drawing and a written specification. The document covers dimensions, frame profile, infill design, the motor and control system, the finish, and the installation method.
Read it carefully. This is the stage where you can ask for changes to the design, the infill pattern, or the automation before anything is made. Questions at this point are far easier to answer than changes after production.
Step 4: Client Approval
Once the drawing and specification match what you want, you give written approval. This confirms the dimensions, materials and finish that will be produced. Keep a copy of the approved document for your records and for your building committee or contractor if needed.
If your project involves an architect or interior designer, invite them to review the drawing before you approve it. Their input often prevents small conflicts with the facade or the landscaping.
Step 5: Factory Production and Finishing
With approval in place, the gate is manufactured in our factory at Rival Street 37 in Tel Aviv. Steel is cut, welded and assembled to the approved dimensions. Each component is then finished to protect it against weather, most commonly with hot-dip galvanizing followed by powder coating.
Production in the workshop means the gate is checked for fit and alignment before it leaves the factory, which saves time on site.
Step 6: Installation and Handover
The final step is installation. Our crew fixes the posts or track, mounts the gate, connects the motor and controls, and tests the full operation including safety features. We walk you through the remote controls and daily use before we finish.
Check that the gate runs smoothly in both directions and stops safely when it meets an obstacle. Any adjustment needed after the first days of use can be arranged with us.
Frequently asked questions
How long does the whole ordering process take?
The timeline depends on the project size and the current workload, so we confirm it with you during the inquiry stage. Measurement and drawing come first, and production starts only after your written approval.
Can I choose between a sliding and a swing gate?
Yes. The right choice depends on the available space in front of and behind the opening, the ground slope, and how often the gate is used. We will recommend the option that fits your site.
Do I need to be present for the measurement?
It is helpful if you or a representative can be present, since you can point out the access routes, existing wiring and any concerns. Make sure the team has a clear path to the opening.
Can the design be changed after I approve the drawing?
Changes after approval may affect production, so it is best to request them before you sign off. Once the gate is in production, any modification is discussed with you directly.
Common mistakes to avoid
The most common error is approving a drawing without checking the opening, clearance and motor position against the actual site. Skipping the on-site measurement or rushing approval often leads to fit problems and extra adjustments later.
Our recommendation
Before you approve the drawing, walk the full opening with the specification in hand and confirm the clearances, the power source location, and the safety features you expect. Ask for any building standard questions, such as railing or safety requirements under SI 1142, to be checked with your engineer.
Summary
Ordering a custom electric gate follows six clear steps: inquiry, measurement, drawing, approval, factory production and installation. Careful review at the drawing and approval stages gives you a gate that fits and works well from day one.
