Ordering Balcony Railing Steps: From Measurement to Delivery

t311-48

t311-48

To order a balcony railing, you send photos and basic details, we measure on site, prepare a drawing and written specification, and you approve it before production starts. The railing is then manufactured in our Tel Aviv factory, finished, and installed at your home.

Step 1: Send an Inquiry with Photos

The first step is a simple inquiry. Send us clear photos of the balcony from a few angles, including the wall, the floor edge and any existing railing you want to replace. Mention the approximate length of each side, the number of floors if relevant, and whether you prefer iron, aluminum, glass or stainless steel.

Photos help us understand the site before we visit, so we can plan the measurement visit efficiently and suggest suitable designs.

Step 2: On-Site Measurement

Once the inquiry is reviewed, our team visits your home to measure. We check the exact lengths, the height of the railing, how the base is fixed, and the condition of the concrete or tiles where posts or fixings will go.

  • Length of each balcony side
  • Height and fixing method
  • Wall, floor or edge conditions
  • Any obstacles such as pipes or air conditioning units

Accurate measurement at this stage prevents surprises during production and installation.

Step 3: Drawing and Written Specification

After measuring, we prepare a drawing showing the railing layout, dimensions, infill pattern and fixing points. A written specification accompanies the drawing and lists materials, profiles, finish and installation notes in plain language.

Take time to read both documents carefully. This is the moment to ask about the look, the bar spacing and anything you want changed before we start making parts.

Step 4: Client Approval

Production begins only after you approve the drawing and specification in writing. This protects both sides: you know exactly what you are getting, and we work from a confirmed design.

If you need a change later, tell us as early as possible. Changes made before production are much simpler than changes made after cutting and welding.

Step 5: Factory Production and Finishing

Your railing is manufactured in our factory at Rival Street 37 in Tel Aviv, with components cut, welded and assembled to your measurements. Steel parts are then finished, typically with hot-dip galvanizing for corrosion protection and powder coating for the final colour.

Finishing is done in controlled stages so the coating adheres well and the railing looks even and durable on your balcony.

Step 6: Delivery and Installation

On installation day, our team brings the finished railing to your home and fixes it to the balcony according to the approved drawing. We check alignment, secure all fixings and confirm the railing is stable before we finish.

Railing height and strength should meet the Israeli standard SI 1142 for balustrades. For exact values, your installation is checked together with the engineer, and we are happy to explain how it applies to your balcony.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the whole process take?

Timing depends on the current workload and the complexity of your design, so we confirm the schedule once the drawing is approved. Simple railings are usually quicker than custom glass or mixed-material designs.

Do I have to be home during the measurement?

It is helpful if someone is present so we can access the balcony and discuss the design, but please let us know in advance if you cannot be there.

Can I change the design after approving the drawing?

Small changes may be possible before production starts, but once cutting and welding begin, changes are harder and may affect timing. That is why we ask for a careful review at the approval step.

What material is best for a balcony railing?

Iron with galvanizing and powder coating is a popular, strong choice, while aluminum and glass suit a lighter look. We recommend the option that matches your balcony, exposure and style during the inquiry.

Common mistakes to avoid

The most common mistake is approving a drawing without checking the bar spacing, height and fixing details. Taking a few minutes to review these points saves time and avoids changes later.

Our recommendation

Measure the balcony yourself as a rough check and send clear photos, but leave the final measurements to our team on site. A precise measurement is the foundation of a railing that fits well and lasts.

Summary

Ordering a balcony railing is a clear process: inquiry with photos, on-site measurement, drawing and specification, your approval, factory production with finishing, and professional installation.
