Pergola Installation Timeline: From Order to Completion

t377-47

t377-47

A custom iron or aluminum pergola moves through inquiry, on-site measurement, drawing and approval, factory production, finishing and installation. The factory and site stages are the ones that usually determine the overall schedule, so planning early helps. Clear communication at each step keeps the project on track.

Step 1: Inquiry and Initial Planning

Every pergola project starts with an inquiry. Send us photos of the area where the pergola will stand, along with a short description of what you need, such as the size you have in mind, whether it will shade a seating area, and whether it should match existing railings or doors.

Early on, it helps to decide roughly where the structure will sit, how it will connect to the house or the ground, and whether any other work, such as tiling or electrical lighting, is planned nearby. Sharing your overall project schedule at this stage lets us plan production around your other works.

Step 2: On-Site Measurement

Our team visits the property to measure the exact location. We check the dimensions, the level of the surface, the condition of walls or columns the pergola will attach to, and any obstacles such as drains, windows or overhangs.

  • Overall footprint and height
  • Fixing points and surface type
  • Access route for delivering materials

Accurate measurements prevent problems later, so this visit is one of the most important steps in the timeline.

Step 3: Drawing, Specification and Your Approval

After measuring, we prepare a drawing and a written specification covering the materials, profile sizes, finish and fixing method. You review the drawing and confirm the details before production begins. Changes are easiest to make at this stage, before any metal is cut.

Take your time with this step. A clear, approved drawing is the foundation for a smooth build, and it avoids delays caused by late changes.

Step 4: Factory Production

Once the drawing is approved, production starts in our workshop at Rival Street 37 in Tel Aviv. Iron and aluminum elements are cut, welded or assembled to measure, and checked against the drawing. Working in the factory keeps quality consistent and lets us prepare the pergola in one controlled environment.

Production time depends on the size and complexity of the design, so ask us for an estimate of the current workload when you approve the drawing.

Step 5: Finishing

Finishing protects the structure and sets its appearance. Depending on the design and your preference, the metal may be hot-dip galvanized for corrosion resistance and then powder coated in the color you choose. Finishing requires drying and curing time, which is built into the schedule.

Let us know early which color you want, since the choice affects how the finishing stage is planned.

Step 6: Installation and Completion

On installation day, our crew brings the finished elements to your site and fixes the pergola to the agreed points. We check levels, alignment and the stability of every connection before we finish. Any small adjustments are made on the spot.

Once the pergola is installed and checked together with you, the project is complete. Keep the site clear beforehand and let us know of any access limits, such as gates or stairs, so the crew can plan properly.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the whole pergola installation process take?

The total duration depends on the design, the size, the finishing requirements and our current workload. Share your target date when you inquire, and we will explain the expected stages for your project.

Do I need to be home during the on-site measurement?

It is helpful to be present or to have someone available who can show the exact location and point out any concerns. This makes the drawing more accurate from the start.

Can I change the design after the drawing is approved?

Changes are possible, but they are easiest before production starts. Changes after production begins may cause delays, so please review the drawing carefully before approving it.

Is the pergola ready to use right after installation?

Yes, once it is installed and checked with you, it is ready for use. If the surface needs any further work nearby, such as paving or lighting, we recommend coordinating those stages with us in advance.

Common mistakes to avoid

Approving a drawing without checking measurements and fixing details, or changing the design after production has started. Both can add weeks to the schedule.

Our recommendation

Plan the pergola early in your overall project and share your deadline at the inquiry stage, so we can plan measurement, production and finishing around your other works.

Summary

The pergola installation process runs from inquiry and measurement through drawing, factory production, finishing and final installation, and clear early decisions keep it on schedule.
