Steel Staircase Warranty Process: What Clients Should Know

t390-43

t390-43

The steel staircase warranty process follows the project from first measurement through drawing approval, factory production, finishing and installation, with each stage documented in writing. Clients review the written specification and finish details before production starts, so the terms they accept are clear from the beginning. Exact warranty terms are confirmed in writing with each project quote.

Start with the on-site measurement

Every steel staircase project begins with an on-site measurement. Our team checks the floor-to-floor height, the opening dimensions, the wall structure and the access route for delivering the steel into the building. These measurements decide the geometry of the staircase, so they are recorded carefully and shared with the client.

Measurements taken on site are the reference for everything that follows. If the structure of the building changes later, the staircase design must be updated before production begins.

Drawings and written specification

After measurement, we prepare a drawing and a written specification. The document describes the stringers, treads, landings, handrail type, connection details and the steel profiles to be used. It also states the finish, such as hot-dip galvanizing or powder coating.

  • Layout drawing with dimensions
  • Profile and material list
  • Finish and coating description
  • Installation notes

Client approval before production

The drawings and specification are sent to the client for approval. This is the stage where questions about dimensions, handrail design or finish should be raised. Once the client approves in writing, the approved version becomes the basis for production and for the warranty terms that apply to the project.

Changes requested after approval may affect the schedule and the terms, so it is best to review every detail at this stage.

Factory production and quality checks

Production takes place in our factory at 37 Rival Street in Tel Aviv. Steel parts are cut, welded and assembled according to the approved drawings. Each component is checked against the specification, including length, angle, weld quality and alignment of treads and stringers.

Checking in the factory means that most fitting issues are found before the steel leaves the workshop, which reduces adjustments on site.

Finishing: galvanizing and powder coating

The finish protects the steel from corrosion and wear. Depending on the project, the staircase may be hot-dip galvanized or powder coated. Each finish has its own care requirements, and these are explained to the client before production.

The finish type is written in the approved specification, so the protection the client receives is the one they agreed to.

Installation and handover

On installation day, the staircase is fixed to the structure according to the approved drawings. Levelness, fixing points and handrail heights are checked during installation. At handover, the client receives the final documentation, including the drawings and care instructions.

Any warranty questions after handover should refer to the written project documents, which set out the terms that were agreed.

Frequently asked questions

Are warranty terms included in the project quote?

Warranty terms are confirmed in writing as part of the project documentation. Please ask for them when you request your quote so you can review them before approving the project.

When are the warranty terms agreed?

The terms are set during the approval stage, once drawings and the written specification are approved. This is before production begins.

Does the finish affect the warranty?

The finish is written in the specification, and the care requirements for that finish are given to the client. Following the care instructions is an important part of keeping the staircase in good condition.

Can the design change after approval?

Changes after approval are possible but may affect the schedule and the agreed terms. It is best to raise any change requests during the drawing and approval stage.

Common mistakes to avoid

Approving drawings without checking the finish, handrail details and dimensions is a common mistake. Once production starts, changes become more difficult and may affect the agreed terms.

Our recommendation

Before approving, measure the opening again yourself or confirm with the on-site team that the dimensions match the building. Ask for the warranty terms in writing so you have a clear reference.

Summary

The steel staircase warranty process is a documented sequence of measurement, drawings, approval, production, finishing and installation, with terms confirmed in writing.
