Warehouse Loading Bay Pergolas and Covered Entrances
t368-8

A warehouse loading canopy pergola shades the loading zone, keeps sun and rain off drivers and goods, and makes daily dock work more comfortable. Techno Kol Uzi builds these pergolas in iron or aluminum, made to the exact dimensions of your bay and finished for outdoor conditions.
Why loading bays need shade and cover
A loading bay is one of the hardest-working spots in a warehouse. Trucks back in and out all day, staff stand in the sun while unloading, and goods wait outside the door during summer heat or winter rain. Without cover, the sun heats the dock floor and the products on it, and rain makes the area slippery and slow to work in.
A well-designed canopy solves these problems at the entrance. It gives workers a shaded area, protects packaging and pallets, and keeps the threshold dry, which helps reduce accidents.
Iron or aluminum: choosing the right material
Both materials suit loading areas, but they behave differently. Iron is strong and rigid, which suits heavy canopies with large spans or areas that see rough use. It is usually hot-dip galvanized and powder coated to resist rust outdoors.
- Iron: high strength, good for heavy-duty spans
- Aluminum: lighter, naturally corrosion resistant, low maintenance
We help you choose based on the load, the span, and how the space will be used.
Measuring and designing for your bay
Every loading bay is different in width, height, and the clearance trucks need. Before any work begins, we visit the site and measure the opening, the approach, and the height of the highest vehicle that uses the dock. These measurements determine the canopy's height, projection, and slope so that it drains water away from the door.
You receive a drawing and a written specification for approval before production starts.
Structural considerations for truck-facing canopies
A canopy beside a loading bay must handle wind, its own weight, and the occasional impact from a maneuvering vehicle. Support posts should be placed with truck movement in mind, and the structure should be checked by the responsible engineer for the local wind and load conditions.
Exact design values are confirmed with the engineer for each project, so the canopy meets the requirements that apply to your building.
Manufacturing and finishing in our factory
All pergolas are cut, welded, and assembled in our factory at 37 Rival Street in Tel Aviv, where we have worked since 1945. Iron parts are hot-dip galvanized for corrosion protection and then powder coated in the color you choose. Aluminum sections are finished to match the rest of the building.
Building the canopy in the workshop means fewer surprises on site and a faster installation.
Installation and aftercare
Installation is carried out after the factory work is complete, with the canopy fitted to the wall, the posts, or the existing structure at the correct height and slope. We check alignment and fixings before handover.
Once installed, inspect the canopy periodically for loose fixings, wear on the coating, and debris collecting on the roof, especially after the rainy season.
Frequently asked questions
Can a loading canopy be made to fit an unusual opening?
Yes. Every canopy is made to measure from on-site dimensions, so irregular openings and tight spaces can be accommodated.
Is iron or aluminum better for a warehouse dock?
It depends on the span, the loads, and the look you want. Iron suits heavy-duty spans, while aluminum is lighter and needs less maintenance.
How is water drainage handled?
The canopy is designed with a slope that directs rainwater away from the loading door, and the gutter position is set during measurement.
Do you handle the drawings for approval?
Yes. We provide a drawing and written specification for client approval before production begins.
Common mistakes to avoid
Choosing a canopy height without accounting for the tallest truck, or skipping the drainage slope, leads to clearance problems and water running onto the dock. Measure the actual vehicles and the door before ordering.
Our recommendation
Measure the height of your tallest vehicle with its load and plan the canopy with clearance to spare. Ask for a written drawing so the slope and support positions are confirmed before fabrication.
Summary
A custom iron or aluminum canopy protects your loading bay from sun and rain, making daily work safer and more comfortable.
