Custom Angled Railing for Unusual Balcony Shapes
t363-46

A custom angled railing is a handrail section cut and bent to match the exact angles of an irregular balcony, so it follows walls, corners and uneven edges instead of forcing a standard straight rail to fit. Each section is measured on site, drawn to specification, produced in our Tel Aviv factory and then installed for a clean, safe finish.
Why Standard Railings Do Not Fit Irregular Balconies
Many Israeli balconies are not perfect rectangles. Corners may be cut diagonally, walls may lean slightly, and bays or curved edges are common in newer buildings. Off-the-shelf railings are made for straight runs and right angles, so they either leave gaps or require awkward compromises.
A custom angled railing solves this by treating each run as its own piece. The result looks deliberate and keeps the guard line continuous and secure.
How We Measure an Angled Balcony Run
Measurement is the most important step. We visit the site and record each angle, wall offset and floor level, then check for anything that could affect the handrail height or fixing points.
- Angle of each corner and direction changes
- Length of every straight segment and curve
- Height from the finished floor to the top rail
- Wall material and fixing positions
Photos help us, but they never replace direct measurement.
Drawing and Written Specification
Before production starts, we prepare a drawing and a written specification that show every bend, joint and fixing point. You review and approve it, so there are no surprises once the material is cut.
The specification also covers the finish, the profile of the top rail and how the sections join. This step protects both sides: you know exactly what you are getting, and we build exactly what was agreed.
Production and Finishing in Our Factory
Once approved, each section is cut, bent and welded in our Tel Aviv workshop, which has operated since 1945. Angles are set and checked against the drawing before the piece leaves the bench, so the fit on site is predictable.
Finishing options include hot-dip galvanizing for outdoor durability and powder coating in the colour you choose. Both are applied after fabrication so the coating covers all joints.
Installation and Safety Considerations
Installation requires care, especially where angled sections meet. Our team fixes the rail to the wall or slab and aligns each joint before finishing it. Israeli railing requirements, including the general principles of standard SI 1142, guide the design, and exact dimensions are confirmed with the engineer for your building.
We check that the railing is firmly fixed and that the top rail sits at a comfortable, safe height along its full length.
Choosing the Right Design for Your Balcony
Think about how you use the balcony. A rail for a child-friendly space may need closer infill, while a rail for a view may favour glass or open steel. Tell us about the shape, the wall types and your style preferences, and we will suggest the most suitable option.
Photos of the balcony, a rough sketch and the measurements you already have are a good starting point for an inquiry.
Frequently asked questions
Can you make a railing for a balcony with no right angles?
Yes. Each section is measured and bent to the actual angles of your balcony, so the railing follows the shape rather than forcing a standard layout.
Do I need to be home for the measurement?
It helps to be present so we can point out the wall positions and any details you care about, but we will arrange a convenient time with you.
Can the railing match my existing iron or steel work?
In many cases yes. We can match the profile and powder-coated colour, and we will confirm the best approach during the specification stage.
Where is the workshop located?
Our factory is at 37 Rival Street in Tel Aviv, where we design, fabricate and finish every custom railing section.
Common mistakes to avoid
Ordering before measuring the actual angles and wall positions is the most common error. Relying only on the architectural plan can cause fit problems when the real balcony differs.
Our recommendation
Send photos from several directions along with rough measurements, then request an on-site visit before approving the drawing. Approve the written specification carefully, including the finish and joint details, because changes after production are harder to make.
Summary
A custom angled railing is the practical answer for irregular balconies, built from accurate on-site measurement and a clear approved drawing. Made in our Tel Aviv factory, each section fits the real shape of your space.
