Custom Home Gate Order Process: From Measurement to Delivery
t269-18

Ordering a custom home gate starts with sending photos and a rough description of your entrance, followed by an on-site measurement and a written drawing for your approval. Once you approve the specification, the gate is built to measure in our Tel Aviv factory, finished, and installed at your home.
Start with an inquiry and photos
The first step is simply getting in touch. Send us photos of the entrance, the wall or pillars the gate will sit on, and any existing fence or gate you want to replace. Describe what you have in mind: a single swing gate, a sliding gate, a pedestrian gate beside a vehicle gate, or an automatic model.
Photos from a few angles help us understand the space before we visit. Mention whether the driveway slopes and which direction the gate should open, since both affect the design.
On-site measurement
Next, our team visits your home to measure the opening precisely. We check the width and height, the condition of the pillars, the ground level, and the clearance needed for the leaves to swing or slide without hitting obstacles.
- Opening width and height at several points
- Pillar and wall condition and fixing options
- Slope, drainage and ground clearance
- Power source if an automatic operator is planned
Drawing and written specification
Based on the measurements, we prepare a drawing showing the gate's dimensions, design, opening direction and fixing points, along with a written specification listing materials, profiles, infill pattern, hinges or rollers, locks and finish. This gives you a clear picture of exactly what will be built.
Take your time reviewing it. Ask about the infill, the height, or the placement of the lock, and request changes before anything goes into production.
Your approval
Once you are happy with the drawing and specification, you give written approval. This step matters because the gate is made to your measurements, so any later change to the design or the opening can mean rework.
If your project also involves a building committee, architect or contractor, we can share the drawing with them directly so approvals are handled in one place.
Factory production and finishing
After approval, the gate is manufactured in our factory at 37 Rival Street in Tel Aviv, where we have worked in iron, aluminum and steel since 1945. Frames are cut and welded, infill is fitted, and mechanical parts are prepared and tested.
For durability, finishing usually includes hot-dip galvanizing for corrosion protection, followed by powder coating in the colour you choose. This protects the gate against weather, especially near the coast.
Delivery and installation
When the gate is finished, our team installs it at your home. We set the posts or fixing points, hang the leaves, adjust hinges or rollers so the gate runs smoothly, and fit the locks and any automation you ordered.
Before we leave, we check the operation together with you and explain how to use and maintain the gate. Exact structural and safety details are confirmed with the engineer during the project.
Frequently asked questions
How long does the custom gate process take from start to finish?
The timeline depends on the complexity of the design and the current production schedule. We confirm the expected timing once the drawing and specification are approved.
Do I need to be home for the measurement?
It is helpful to be present so we can discuss the opening direction, the look you want, and any access or automation needs. We can arrange a suitable time with you.
Can I change the design after approving the drawing?
Changes are possible before production starts, but they may affect the schedule. That is why we recommend reviewing the drawing carefully before giving final approval.
Do you install automatic gates as well?
Yes, we can supply and install gates with automation. During the measurement we check the power supply and layout so the system is planned correctly from the start.
Common mistakes to avoid
Approving a drawing without checking the opening direction, height and lock position is the most common mistake. Measuring only once without considering slope, clearance and power access can lead to costly changes later.
Our recommendation
Measure the opening yourself roughly, but let our team take the final measurements on site, and note any future plans such as automation or a pedestrian gate so they are included from the beginning.
Summary
Ordering a custom home gate follows a clear path: inquiry with photos, on-site measurement, drawing and specification, your approval, factory production with finishing, and installation at your home.
