Custom Railing Order Process: From Consultation to Delivery
t322-47

A custom railing order follows a clear sequence: an inquiry with photos, on-site measurement, a written drawing and specification, your approval, factory production, finishing, and installation. Knowing each stage helps first-time buyers plan timing and avoid surprises. The process works the same whether you are ordering for a private home or a building.
Step 1: Send Your Inquiry With Photos
The process starts with a simple inquiry. Tell us where the stair railing will go, whether it is an indoor staircase, an outdoor staircase, or a balcony, and what style you have in mind. Photos of the stairs, the wall or side where the railing will attach, and any existing railing you want to replace make a big difference.
Also mention the material you are considering, such as iron, stainless steel, or glass infill. You do not need technical knowledge at this stage. A clear photo and a few sentences about your goal are enough for us to understand the project and respond with the right questions.
Step 2: On-Site Measurement
Once the inquiry is reviewed, we arrange a visit to measure the staircase. Accurate measurement is the foundation of a railing that fits properly, so we check the length of each run, the height, the angles, landings, and the exact points where posts or brackets will be fixed.
- Staircase length and rise along each run
- Wall or floor construction at the fixing points
- Landings, turns, and any obstacles
We also note the surface condition, since concrete, tile, and wood need different fixing methods.
Step 3: Drawing and Written Specification
After measuring, we prepare a drawing that shows the layout, dimensions, post positions, and the design details. Alongside the drawing comes a written specification describing the materials, profile sizes, infill pattern, handrail type, and finish. This document is what you approve, so take time to read it carefully.
If anything is unclear, ask before approving. Changes are much easier to make at this stage than after production has started. Exact structural values are checked with the engineer, and the railing is planned to meet the Israeli railing standard SI 1142 where it applies.
Step 4: Your Approval
Approval is your confirmation that the drawing and specification match what you want. We ask you to review the design, confirm the finish color and infill, and sign off. This step protects both sides, because the factory builds exactly what has been approved.
Once approved, the order moves into production. If you later want changes, we will explain whether they affect the timeline and how they are handled.
Step 5: Production and Finishing
The railing is manufactured in our Tel Aviv factory on Rival Street, where we cut, weld, and assemble each part to the measurements. Finishing protects the metal for long-term use. Depending on the material and location, this may include hot-dip galvanizing followed by powder coating for strong corrosion resistance.
Quality checks happen during production so that dimensions and welds are confirmed before the parts leave the workshop.
Step 6: Installation and Delivery
The final stage is delivery and installation. Our team brings the finished railing to the site, fixes the posts and handrails, and checks alignment, height, and stability. We review the completed work with you and confirm everything meets the approved specification.
Good preparation helps here: keep the stairs clear, confirm access for the delivery, and let us know about any site restrictions in advance.
Frequently asked questions
How long does the custom railing order process take?
Timing depends on the project size, the material, and the finish you choose. Your timeline is confirmed after the drawing and approval stage, when production planning is clear.
Do I need to be home for the on-site measurement?
It is helpful to be present so you can point out the fixing areas and discuss the design. If that is not possible, arrange access with someone who can show us the staircase.
Can I change the design after approving the drawing?
Changes are possible but may affect the timeline and cost, so it is best to finalize details before approval. We will explain any impact before making the change.
Is installation included in the order?
Installation is part of the process we describe, and we will confirm exactly what is included in your written specification before you approve the order.
Common mistakes to avoid
The most common mistake is approving the drawing too quickly without checking the finish, infill, and dimensions. Once production starts, changes become harder and slower, so review every detail first.
Our recommendation
Measure your staircase and take clear photos before the first call, and note the fixing surface, whether concrete, tile, or wood. This preparation speeds up the drawing stage and helps us give you an accurate plan.
Summary
The custom railing order process moves from inquiry and measurement through drawing, approval, factory production, finishing, and installation. Each step builds on the last, so careful review at the start leads to a railing that fits and lasts.
