Request a Site Visit for Architectural Metalwork Measurement
t493-29

To order custom architectural metalwork accurately, request an on-site measurement visit so our team can verify dimensions, openings and fixing conditions directly. Measuring on site before drawing and production prevents costly mismatches and rework. Send us your plans and photos first, and we will confirm the visit and what to prepare.
Why an On-Site Measurement Visit Matters
Drawings are a valuable starting point, but built spaces rarely match them exactly. Walls can be out of plumb, floor levels vary, and openings often differ by a few millimeters from the design. For steel, aluminum and glass elements made to measure, those differences affect fit, sightlines and the way a piece meets the structure.
A site visit lets us measure the real conditions before anything is produced. This protects the design intent and keeps the installation schedule on track for everyone involved.
What We Measure During the Visit
Our measurement covers the elements that govern how a piece will be fabricated and fixed:
- Clear openings, reveals and thicknesses of walls and slabs
- Floor levels, slopes and any irregularities at the installation line
- Fixing surfaces, substrate type and available anchor points
- Adjacent finishes, thresholds and existing elements that must be matched
We record the findings with photos and written notes so the drawing reflects exactly what we saw.
How to Prepare for the Visit
A little preparation makes the visit faster and more useful. Please share current architectural plans, elevations and any details you already have. Clear access to the measured openings and tell us about any work still in progress, such as plastering or tiling, since finished dimensions can change the result.
If possible, have the contractor or site supervisor present so questions about fixing methods and site sequencing can be answered on the spot.
From Measurement to Approved Drawing
After the visit we prepare a drawing and a written specification based on the measured dimensions. You review and approve the documents before any work begins. This step gives architects and designers a chance to confirm profiles, finishes, operation and details against the design intent.
Once approved, the item moves into production in our factory at 37 Rival Street, Tel Aviv, with finishing such as hot-dip galvanizing or powder coating planned in advance.
Coordinating with Contractors and Other Trades
Metalwork usually interacts with masonry, glazing, flooring and electrical work. We recommend agreeing on the measurement date early, so openings are not closed or finished before we measure. When a contractor needs dimensions for their own schedule, we can share the confirmed measurements in writing.
Where a railing or guardrail is involved, we check the design against the Israeli railing standard SI 1142 and confirm exact values with the responsible engineer.
Requesting Your Visit
To request a visit, send a short description of the project, the element types needed, and your plans or photos. Mention the site location, the preferred dates and any constraints such as access hours. We will reply to confirm the appointment and the items to prepare.
Early contact gives us time to plan the visit around your schedule and keeps your project moving toward a precise, well-fitting installation.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be present during the site measurement?
It is helpful but not always required. Having the contractor or site supervisor present lets questions about fixings and sequencing be answered immediately.
What should I send before the visit?
Please send the current plans, elevations and any details you have, along with photos of the openings. This helps us prepare and focus the visit on what matters most.
Can the visit happen before the walls are finished?
Yes, but tell us about remaining work such as plastering or tiling. Finished dimensions can differ, so we may recommend measuring again at a later stage.
What happens after the measurement?
We prepare a drawing and written specification from the measured dimensions. Production begins only after you review and approve these documents.
Common mistakes to avoid
Ordering from drawings alone, or closing openings before measuring, often leads to dimensions that do not fit. Measure the real conditions first, especially where finishes are not yet complete.
Our recommendation
Schedule the measurement visit before the wall finishes and floor screeds are completed, and bring the contractor along so fixing details are confirmed on the spot.
Summary
A site measurement visit confirms real dimensions and fixing conditions before architectural metalwork is produced, reducing errors and rework.
