Request a Steel Staircase Site Visit and Assessment
t391-49

A steel staircase site assessment is an on-site visit where our team measures the opening, checks the structure it will attach to, and discusses design and finish with you. You receive a drawing and written specification before anything is manufactured. Requesting this visit is the first step toward a safe, accurate steel staircase made to measure.
What the Site Assessment Includes
During the visit, our technician walks the space with you and records the exact dimensions of the stair opening or the floor-to-floor height. We look at the surface the staircase will connect to, whether it is concrete, existing steel or a finished floor, and note how the wall and ceiling conditions affect the layout.
We also talk through how you use the space, since traffic, available room and daily routines all shape the right design.
How to Prepare Before We Arrive
Having a few details ready makes the visit more productive. It helps to have any architectural plans, photos of the area and a rough idea of the style you want.
- Clear access to the stair area and the surfaces we need to measure
- Plans or sketches showing floor levels, if available
- Notes on who will use the staircase, including children or elderly residents
- Your preferred finish, such as galvanized, powder-coated or stainless steel look
Design and Structural Considerations
A steel staircase must carry its own weight and daily loads safely, so the design depends on the span, the support points and the type of connection to the building. We evaluate whether the stringers, treads and landings suit the opening and how the structure will be anchored.
Railings and handrails are also reviewed against the Israeli railing standard SI 1142, and we confirm that the final layout meets it. Exact technical values are checked together with the engineer during the design stage.
From Assessment to Written Specification
After the visit, we prepare a drawing and a written specification describing the materials, dimensions, step geometry, connection method and finish. This document is sent to you for review before any production begins, so you know exactly what will be built.
You can request changes at this stage. Approving the specification in writing gives both sides a clear reference for the rest of the project.
Production and Finishing at Our Factory
Once you approve the specification, the staircase is manufactured in our Tel Aviv factory at 37 Rival Street. Components are cut, welded and assembled to the measured dimensions, which reduces surprises on installation day.
Finishing options such as hot-dip galvanizing or powder coating are applied to protect the steel and match your interior or exterior style.
Installation and What to Expect
Installation is carried out after the staircase is delivered and the connection points are prepared. Our team fixes the structure securely and checks levels, alignment and railing height before leaving the site.
- Confirm that the floor and anchor points are ready
- Plan access for delivery of the assembled sections
- Keep the area clear during fixing to speed up the work
Frequently asked questions
Is there a charge for the site assessment?
Please contact us directly to ask about the visit and how it is arranged. Our team will explain the process when you get in touch.
How long does the on-site visit take?
The length depends on the size and complexity of the staircase and the space. We will confirm the expected duration when we schedule your visit.
Do I need an engineer's drawings before booking?
No, you can book the visit without drawings. If you have plans, bring them along, as they help us assess the opening more quickly.
Can I change the design after the specification is sent?
Yes, you can request changes to the specification before approving it. Once approved in writing, we proceed to production based on the agreed document.
Common mistakes to avoid
Booking a visit without clearing the stair area or skipping the written specification can lead to measurement errors and unexpected changes. Always review and approve the drawing before production starts.
Our recommendation
Measure the opening yourself as a rough check, but leave the final measurements to the on-site visit. Ask the technician to confirm the connection method and railing height with you before approving anything.
Summary
A site assessment is the most reliable way to plan a steel staircase correctly, from measurement and structure to the final approved specification.
