Submitting Stair Railing Specifications for a Quote
t334-35

To get an accurate stair railing quote, send clear photos, the stair type and approximate dimensions, and your preferred material and finish. Our team then measures on site, prepares a drawing and written specification for your approval, and only then moves to production and installation.
What to Include in Your First Inquiry
Your first message does not need to be perfect. The more context you give, the faster we can understand the job. Start with a few clear photos of the staircase from the bottom and the top, plus one close-up of the existing handrail or wall fixings if there are any.
- Type of staircase: straight, L-shaped, U-shaped or spiral
- Number of steps and whether the stairs are inside or outside
- Preferred material such as iron, stainless steel or glass infill
- Preferred finish and any colour reference
Add a short note about how the railing will be used, for example for a family home, a building common stair or a commercial entrance.
On-Site Measurement
Measurements are the core of a reliable quote. Our technician visits the site and records the total length of each flight, the height from the step nosing to the top of the rail, the wall or post positions and any landings. Where walls are uneven, we note the variation so the railing can be fitted correctly.
If you measure yourself before the visit, measure along the nosing line rather than the wall edge, and write down every number with its unit. Our technician will still check everything on site.
Drawing and Written Specification
After measuring, we prepare a simple drawing showing the layout, post positions, infill pattern and handrail profile. The written specification lists the material grade, profile sizes, fixing method, finish and any special features such as lighting or a glass panel.
Requirements for safety heights and gaps follow the Israeli railing standard SI 1142. Exact dimensional values are confirmed with the engineer during the review, so you can rely on the checked figures rather than guesses.
Client Approval Before Production
Nothing goes into production until you have reviewed and approved the drawing and specification. Read the layout, check the infill style and confirm the finish. If something does not match what you pictured, ask for a change now, because adjustments are much easier at this stage.
- Check the drawing against your staircase photos
- Confirm material, profile and finish in writing
- Ask any questions about fixings or site access
Production in Our Factory
Once approved, the railing is cut, welded and assembled at our factory on Rival Street in Tel Aviv, a workshop operating since 1945 and now run by the third generation of the family. Parts are shaped to your measurements, so the fit on site is precise.
Finishing follows the specification. Steel parts can be hot-dip galvanized for outdoor durability and then powder coated in your chosen colour, which protects the metal and gives a consistent look.
Installation and Final Check
Our installers fix the railing to the steps, wall or floor using the method agreed in the specification. We check that posts are plumb, rails are level along the slope and all joints are secure before we leave the site.
Please keep the stair area clear on installation day and let us know about any access limits, such as a building lift or a shared entrance. A final walk-through with you completes the job.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be present for the site measurement?
It is helpful if you or a representative can be there to show the staircase and point out any special conditions. If you cannot attend, send clear photos and any measurements you have taken.
Can I change the design after the drawing is approved?
Changes are possible before production starts, and we will review how they affect the specification. Once the parts are in production, changes are much harder, so it is best to finalise the details at the approval stage.
What if my walls are not straight?
Uneven walls are common in older buildings. Our technician records the variation during the visit so the posts and brackets can be adjusted to suit the actual site.
Why does the quote depend on a site visit?
Photos show the look of the stairs but not exact lengths, heights or fixing conditions. Measuring on site ensures the specification and quote match the real staircase.
Common mistakes to avoid
Sending only one blurry photo or measuring from the wall edge instead of the nosing line are the most common causes of delays. Missing details about material, finish or access can also lead to a revised quote.
Our recommendation
Prepare a short written list with photos, approximate measurements and your preferred material and colour before contacting us. This lets us give you a precise, reliable specification from the first conversation.
Summary
A good stair railing quote starts with clear photos, measurements and material preferences, followed by an on-site check, an approved drawing and factory production.
