Window Production Process: From Measurement to Installation
t446-21

The window production process at Techno Kol Uzi runs in clear stages: an inquiry with photos, on-site measurement, a drawing and written specification approved by the client, production in our Tel Aviv factory, finishing, and installation. Every window is made to measure, so each stage is checked before cutting begins. This sequence keeps surprises to a minimum for homeowners, building committees and contractors alike.
Step 1: Inquiry and Photos
Every project starts with a conversation about what you need. Send us photos of the opening, a rough sketch if you have one, and a note about how the room is used. This helps us understand the light, the view, the privacy needs and the wall construction before anyone travels to the site.
Photos taken straight on and from a few steps back are most useful. Include the surrounding wall so we can see how the frame will sit.
Step 2: On-Site Measurement
Measuring is the foundation of a good window. Our team visits the site and checks each opening at several points, because walls are rarely perfectly square or level. We record width and height at the top, middle and bottom, along with the depth of the reveal and any obstacles such as shutters, tiles or electrical boxes.
- Opening dimensions at multiple points
- Reveal depth and wall thickness
- Sash opening direction and handle position
Step 3: Drawing and Written Specification
Using the measurements, we prepare a drawing that shows the window size, sash layout, opening direction and the profile style. A written specification accompanies it, listing the steel-look profile finish, glazing type, hardware and any safety requirements that apply to the location.
Nothing goes into production until you have reviewed and approved both documents. This is the moment to ask questions and request changes.
Step 4: Production in the Factory
Once approved, the order moves to our workshop on Rival Street. Profiles are cut, welded and assembled to the drawing, and each unit is checked against its specification. Because our factory has been run by the same family since 1945, our craftspeople follow established habits of careful, measured work.
Belgian steel-look profiles give a slim, refined appearance, and precise cutting is essential so that corners and joints look clean once the window is installed.
Step 5: Finishing
After assembly, the windows receive their surface treatment. Depending on the specification, this may include hot-dip galvanizing for corrosion protection and powder coating for the final colour and texture. Finishing is done before delivery so the colour and protective layer are consistent across the order.
We recommend confirming the colour choice against a sample before the order is finalized, since screens and daylight can make shades look different.
Step 6: Installation and Final Check
Installation is carried out by our team on the agreed date. Each window is fitted, levelled, sealed and tested for smooth opening and closing. Any adjustments to hardware are made on the spot, so you can see the finished result before the crew leaves.
Ask us to walk through how to operate and maintain the windows. Simple care keeps the finish and hardware in good condition for years.
Frequently asked questions
How long does the window production process take?
Timing depends on the number of openings, the finish selected and the current workload. We confirm the schedule in writing once the drawing and specification have been approved.
Do I need to be home for the measurement?
It helps if someone can open the doors and show us any obstacles, but we will coordinate the visit to suit your schedule. Let us know the best time when you get in touch.
Can I change the design after approving the drawing?
Changes are possible before production starts. Once cutting has begun, modifications may be limited, so it is best to review the drawing carefully at the approval stage.
Are the windows made in the factory or on site?
The profiles are cut, welded, finished and assembled at our factory in Tel Aviv. Only the final fitting and sealing take place on site.
Common mistakes to avoid
Many people approve a drawing quickly without checking the sash direction, handle position or colour sample. Taking a few extra minutes at this stage prevents costly changes later.
Our recommendation
Measure your own openings roughly and compare them with the drawing before approval, and make sure the finish colour has been confirmed against a physical sample in daylight.
Summary
The window production process moves from inquiry and measurement through drawing, factory production, finishing and installation, with your approval at each key step. Clear communication at the start leads to a window that fits and performs as planned.
