Booking a Measurement Visit for Steel-Look Windows
t446-41

To order steel-look windows, start by requesting a measurement visit from Techno Kol Uzi. Our team comes to your home, measures each opening, and sends a written drawing and specification for your approval before anything is produced.
Why a measurement visit comes first
Steel-look profile windows and doors are made to measure, so every opening has to be checked on site before production starts. Walls are rarely perfectly square, and small differences in frame depth, lintel height or floor level can change how a window fits and opens.
A measurement visit lets us see the actual conditions instead of relying on plans alone. It also gives you the chance to ask questions about the look, the opening direction and the layout while everything is in front of you.
What to prepare before we arrive
Having a few things ready makes the visit faster and more useful. You do not need technical drawings, but photos and rough notes help a lot.
- Photos of each opening, taken straight on and from the side
- A list of the rooms and which windows or doors you have in mind
- Notes on how you want each element to open
- Any existing frames or plans from your architect or contractor
- Access to the openings and a clear space to work
What happens during the site visit
During the visit we measure width, height and depth of each opening at several points, and check the wall condition, the sill and any obstacles such as shutters, railings or pipes. We discuss the profile style, the glass options and the opening mechanisms that suit the space.
We also note anything that needs attention from other trades, such as plastering or a sill that must be finished before installation. You leave the visit knowing what we measured and what comes next.
From drawing to approval
After the visit we prepare a drawing and a written specification for each window or door. The document lists dimensions, frame layout, opening direction, colour and finishing, and any structural notes. Structural details such as reinforcement or exact fixing values are confirmed with our engineer, not guessed from general rules.
Nothing goes into production until you approve the drawing and specification in writing. Please read it carefully and raise any changes at this stage, when they are simple to make.
Production and finishing in our Tel Aviv workshop
Once approved, the elements are manufactured at our workshop at 37 Rival Street in Tel Aviv. Our production team cuts and assembles the steel-look profiles, fits the glass and hardware, and checks each unit against the specification.
Finishing follows, including hot-dip galvanizing and powder coating where the job requires them. Protecting the surface during this stage keeps the steel-look finish consistent and durable.
Installation and handover
Installation is planned around your site schedule. Our installers fix the windows and doors, seal the frames, check that every opening and closing action runs smoothly, and clean the work area before leaving.
At handover we walk through the operation of each unit with you, so you know how the handles, locks and ventilation settings work and what routine care keeps the finish in good condition.
Frequently asked questions
Is the measurement visit free?
Please ask our team when you request the visit, as arrangements can differ by project. We will explain what the visit includes before we arrive.
Do I need to be home during the measurement?
It helps to be present or to have someone who can answer questions and give access to every opening. Photos and notes beforehand can make the visit shorter.
How soon after the visit will I receive the drawing?
We send the drawing and written specification after the visit for your review. Timing depends on the scope of the project, and we will confirm it with you directly.
Can I change the design after approving the drawing?
Changes are best raised before approval. Once production has started, any change needs to be reviewed again, so we recommend checking everything carefully at the drawing stage.
Common mistakes to avoid
Skipping the on-site measurement and relying on old plans or rough estimates is the most common error, because it often leads to units that do not fit. Approving a drawing without checking the opening direction and dimensions can also cause costly corrections later.
Our recommendation
Measure your openings yourself at a few points before we visit, and note any obstacles near each window. Sharing that information in advance helps us prepare a more accurate drawing from the first visit.
Summary
Booking a measurement visit is the first step to steel-look windows and doors that fit well and look right. The visit leads to a clear drawing, your written approval, workshop production and careful installation.
