Scheduling Window Replacement Without Disrupting Daily Life
t404-42

A good window replacement schedule moves in clear stages: measurement, drawing approval, factory production, and then installation day. Because aluminum windows are made to measure, most of the work happens in our Tel Aviv workshop, so your home is only disturbed for a short installation visit.
Why planning matters when you live in the home
Replacing windows in an occupied home is very different from a new build. Your family still needs to sleep, work, cook and get children to school. The most effective way to protect that routine is to agree on the full timeline before anything is ordered, so every visit is expected and short.
At Techno Kol Uzi, we treat the schedule as part of the job. We explain each stage in writing so you know what happens, when, and how long it takes.
Step one: measurement and inquiry
The process starts with an inquiry where you send photos of the openings. We then arrange an on-site measurement at a time that suits your household. Measuring is quick and usually needs only a few minutes per room.
- Tell us which rooms are used during the day or by children and pets
- Mention any days when the home must stay quiet, such as remote work
- Point out access issues like a narrow stairwell or a shared lift
Step two: drawing and written specification
After measuring, we prepare a drawing and a written specification for each window, including frame type, glass, opening direction and finish. You review and approve these before production starts. This is the stage where changes are cheap and easy, so take your time checking dimensions and details.
Once you approve, the order moves to the factory and your job is effectively on hold until we confirm the installation date.
Step three: production in the factory
Aluminum windows are cut, assembled and finished at our workshop at 37 Rival Street. Building the windows in the factory means that most of the noise, dust and handling happen away from your home. Your windows are not taken apart in your living room to be fitted.
Because each unit is made to your measurements, production is the longest stage in the schedule, but it does not require anything from you beyond keeping the approved dimensions and details unchanged.
Step four: choosing installation day
Once the windows are ready, we agree on an installation day with you. Pick a window of time that works, and try to group the openings so the crew can work room by room in a single visit where possible. Tell us about any clean-up or access needs before the day arrives.
- Clear shelves and fragile items near the openings
- Move furniture away from the wall if you can
- Keep pets and small children in a separate room
Step five: installation with minimal disruption
On installation day, the crew removes the old unit, fits the new aluminum window, and seals and checks it. Each opening is usually finished before the crew moves to the next, so you are never left with multiple open holes at once.
When the job is done, we check that the windows open, close and lock correctly and walk you through the operation before we leave.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a window replacement take in an occupied home?
The on-site installation is usually a single visit, with each window fitted and sealed before the crew moves on. The overall timeline depends on production, which happens in our factory and does not disturb your home.
Do I need to move out during the work?
In most cases no, because the windows are made in the factory and installed one at a time. We will tell you in advance if a particular room needs extra protection or temporary access changes.
Can I choose the installation date?
Yes, we agree on the installation day with you after the windows are ready. Tell us your preferred days when you first make contact so we can plan around your household.
What should I do before the crew arrives?
Clear the area around each window, move fragile items and furniture if possible, and let us know about any pets or children who need a separate room. This makes the visit faster and safer for everyone.
Common mistakes to avoid
Approving drawings without checking every dimension and opening direction is the most common error, since changes after production can delay the schedule. Also avoid booking installation before the approved specification is confirmed in writing.
Our recommendation
Share your household's daily routine at the measurement visit and agree on installation day in writing, so the crew can plan a room-by-room sequence that keeps your home usable.
Summary
A clear schedule of measurement, approval, factory production and a planned installation visit lets you replace aluminum windows while your family keeps living at home.
