Glass Vitrine Order Process: From Approval to Delivery
t432-34

A glass vitrine order at Techno Kol Uzi moves through six stages: inquiry, on-site measurement, written drawing and specification, client approval, factory production, and installation. Each stage has a clear output, so a procurement manager can track the order at every point. Approval of the drawing is the key moment, because production starts only after the client signs off on the exact dimensions and details.
Stage 1: Inquiry and Site Information
Every glass vitrine order begins with an inquiry. Send photos of the space, a rough sketch if you have one, and a short description of how the vitrine or partition will be used. Mention the wall type, the floor finish and any access limits in the building, such as a narrow lift or a tight staircase.
- Photos of the installation area from several angles
- Intended use: display, partition, or both
- Preferred glass type and frame finish
This information lets our team judge the scope early and plan the site visit properly.
Stage 2: On-Site Measurement
A member of our team visits the site to take exact measurements. Glass is cut to size and cannot be stretched later, so measuring is the most important step in the whole process. We check the openings, the floor level, the wall plumbness and the clearances needed for the glass panels and their fixings.
Measurements are recorded on site and checked before anything leaves the factory. Any obstacle that affects the design is noted now, not discovered at installation.
Stage 3: Drawing and Written Specification
After measuring, we prepare a drawing that shows the vitrine layout, dimensions, frame profiles, glass thickness and type, door or sliding arrangement, and fixing method. A written specification accompanies the drawing and lists materials, finishes and the scope of work, so the client knows exactly what is being built.
Thickness and fixing requirements for glass are confirmed with the engineer on the project. Our team does not guess structural values; they are verified against the applicable requirements.
Stage 4: Client Approval
The drawing and specification are sent to the client for written approval. Please review every dimension, the glass type, the finish colour and the door or opening direction. Changes are far cheaper to make now than after production starts.
- Check dimensions against the actual site
- Confirm glass type and finish
- Sign off the drawing in writing
Once approved, the order moves to production and the drawing becomes the reference for all later stages.
Stage 5: Factory Production and Finishing
Production takes place at our factory on Rival Street 37 in Tel Aviv. Frames and metal parts are cut, welded and assembled to the approved drawing, then finished. Metal components receive surface treatment such as hot-dip galvanizing or powder coating where the design calls for it. Glass is cut and prepared to the measured sizes.
During production, the procurement manager can request a status update at any stage, so the order stays transparent from start to finish.
Stage 6: Installation and Handover
Our installation team fits the vitrine or partition at the site, levels and secures it, and checks that doors and glass panels operate correctly. Protective film or packaging is kept in place until the final cleaning. We walk the client through the finished work and note any remaining items before handover.
After installation, a final check confirms that the delivered work matches the approved drawing and specification.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a glass vitrine order take from approval to delivery?
The timeline depends on the size of the order and the finishes chosen. Your project contact will give you a schedule once the drawing is approved and production is planned.
Who checks the measurements before production starts?
Our team measures on site and records the dimensions, then the drawing is sent to you for approval. Production only begins after you sign off the final dimensions.
Can I change the design after approval?
Changes after approval are possible but may affect timing and scope, so they should be raised as early as possible. Any change is confirmed in writing before the factory adjusts the work.
Do you install the glass vitrines yourselves?
Yes, our own installation team fits the vitrines and partitions at the site and checks that everything operates correctly before handover.
Common mistakes to avoid
The most common error is approving a drawing without checking each dimension against the real site, which leads to rework. Another is changing the glass type or finish after production has begun, which delays the order.
Our recommendation
Ask for a site measurement visit before you finalise the design, and review the drawing line by line. Confirm glass thickness and fixing details with the engineer on your project before you sign.
Summary
A glass vitrine order follows a clear path: inquiry, measurement, drawing, approval, production and installation. Careful approval of the drawing is what keeps the order on schedule and free of surprises.
