Scheduling a Glass Partition Site Visit: What to Expect
t432-35

A glass partition site visit is an on-site measurement appointment where our team checks the exact dimensions, floor and ceiling conditions, and fixing points before any glass is cut. Preparing the space and sharing photos in advance makes the visit faster and the final drawing more accurate.
Why an On-Site Measurement Comes First
Glass partitions and vitrines are made to measure, and an opening that looks straight on paper is often slightly out of square in reality. Walls, floors and ceilings in older buildings can vary by a few millimeters across the length of the room. Measuring on site means the glass is cut for the actual space, not for the plans.
During the visit we also look at how the partition will be fixed, which affects the profile and glass thickness we recommend.
How to Prepare Before We Arrive
Preparation saves time on both sides. Before the visit, please send a few clear photos of the area, the approximate wall and ceiling materials, and any sketch you already have. Clear the path to the measurement area and make sure the floor is accessible.
- Note which side the door should open
- Mark any electrical outlets, pipes or ducts nearby
- Tell us if the space will be used during the works
What Happens During the Visit
Our technician measures width, height and depth at several points, checks how level and plumb the surfaces are, and notes the fixing method. We discuss glass type, frame finish and door layout with you on the spot, so decisions are made while everyone can see the space.
Photos are taken for our records, and any site conditions that could affect production are noted in writing.
From Measurement to Drawing and Approval
After the visit, we prepare a drawing and a written specification covering dimensions, glass, profiles, finishes and door hardware. Nothing goes into production until you have reviewed and approved these documents. If something in the drawing does not match your expectations, it is far easier to change it at this stage than after production.
Production in Our Factory
Once approved, the glass partition is manufactured in our Tel Aviv factory at 37 Rival Street, where the metal frames are fabricated and finished, and the glass is prepared to the measured sizes. Our team, run by the third generation of the family since 1945, follows the approved drawing closely so the parts arrive ready to fit.
Installation and Final Check
Installation begins with setting the frames level and fixing them securely to the floor, ceiling and walls. Glass panels are then fitted and adjusted, and doors are checked for smooth operation. We finish by walking through the partition with you to confirm alignment, sealing and hardware.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a glass partition site visit usually take?
Most visits take under an hour for a standard room, though larger or more complex spaces need more time. We will confirm the expected duration when scheduling.
Do I need to be present during the measurement?
It is recommended that someone with authority over the space is present so decisions about door direction and layout can be made on the spot. If that is not possible, send clear photos and notes in advance.
What should I bring or have ready for the visit?
Have any floor plans or sketches, photos of the area, and a list of your preferred glass and frame styles. Ensure the path to the space is clear and accessible.
Can the measurement be done while the building is in use?
Yes, in most cases we can measure while the space is occupied, as long as we have access to the measurement area. Let us know about any restrictions when booking.
Common mistakes to avoid
Booking a visit without clearing access or sending photos first often leads to a rushed measurement and later corrections. Assuming the walls are perfectly straight is another common issue that the on-site check is designed to catch.
Our recommendation
Before the visit, mark the exact door side and any nearby outlets or pipes on the wall with tape, so the technician can account for them immediately. This reduces revisions to the drawing.
Summary
A glass partition site visit gives us accurate measurements and lets you decide on layout and finishes before production begins. Good preparation makes the process faster and more precise.
