Iron Gate Replacement: New Fabricated Gates for Your Home
t503-7

Iron gate replacement is the right choice when rust has weakened the frame, hinges or welds, or when the gate no longer closes or looks safe. A new custom gate is measured to your opening, fabricated in our Tel Aviv factory and installed with a finish built for Israeli weather.
When an Iron Gate Should Be Replaced
Surface rust is common and can often be treated. Replacement becomes the better option when corrosion has eaten into the structural steel, when welds are cracking, or when the gate sags and rubs against the ground or post every time it moves.
- Holes or flaking metal at the bottom rails and joints
- Hinges that are loose, seized or pulling out of the post
- Gaps that let children or animals pass through
- A gate that no longer latches or locks securely
If repairs would cost nearly as much as a new unit, a new gate usually gives you better value and a longer working life.
Measuring Your Opening Correctly
A replacement gate has to match the opening it fills. Our team visits the site and measures the clear width, the height at both ends, the slope of the ground and the condition of the posts. Uneven ground and out-of-plumb posts are common, so we measure rather than rely on the old gate's dimensions.
Please keep the old gate in place until we have measured, and tell us whether the gate swings in or out and which side the hinges are on.
Design Options for a New Iron Gate
A new gate can keep the traditional look of the old one or move to a cleaner design. Vertical bars, panel infill, decorative scrolls and solid sheet inserts for privacy are all possible. Your choice affects both the appearance and the wind load on the hinges and posts, so we review it together with you.
Architects and designers can send drawings or photos, and we will produce a written specification that fits the rest of the facade.
Fabrication and Finishing in Our Factory
Every gate is built to measure in our workshop at 37 Rival Street, Tel Aviv, using the same steel-working methods the factory has used since 1945. Frames are welded, squared and checked against the drawing before they leave the shop.
For durability in the coastal Israeli climate, gates are typically hot-dip galvanized and then powder coated. This two-layer finish resists salt air, sun and moisture far better than paint alone.
Installation and Fitting
Installation includes removing the old gate, setting or correcting the posts, hanging the new gate on sound hinges and adjusting the latch and any lock or automation so it closes square. We check the swing over the full arc before we leave.
If the posts are too weak to carry a new gate, we will tell you before work starts and explain the options for reinforcing them.
Safety and Standards
A gate on a public-facing entrance or a child-accessible area should be designed with safety in mind: no sharp edges, gaps sized so small fingers cannot be trapped, and a secure closing mechanism. Where railings or barriers are part of the project, the Israeli railing standard SI 1142 is relevant, and we confirm exact dimensions with your engineer rather than guessing.
Let us know if the gate is for a building committee, so we can align the design with the committee's requirements.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a custom iron gate replacement take?
Timing depends on the complexity of the design and our current production schedule. We confirm the timeline in the written specification once the measurements and approval are complete.
Can you keep the same style as my old gate?
In many cases yes. We can copy the general pattern, bar spacing and proportions from photos and measurements, while using stronger modern construction.
Do I need to remove the old gate myself?
No. Our installation includes removing the old gate and disposing of it, so you do not need to arrange this separately.
Can the new gate be fitted with an electric opener?
Yes. We can prepare the gate and hardware for an electric opener or automation, and we will advise on the weight and hinge requirements before fabrication.
Common mistakes to avoid
The most common mistake is measuring the old gate instead of the opening, which often leads to a unit that does not fit. Choosing a plain paint finish on an exposed site is another, since it will need frequent repainting.
Our recommendation
Have the posts checked before ordering a new gate, because a heavy new gate on weak posts will fail sooner than the old one did. Ask for hot-dip galvanizing plus powder coating for any gate exposed to sea air.
Summary
Replace an iron gate when corrosion threatens its structure, hinges or safety, and choose a custom fabricated unit measured to your exact opening. Galvanizing and powder coating give the longest service in Israeli conditions.
