Start Your Iron Door Order with a Design Consultation
t418-43

A design consultation is the best first step for an iron or aluminum door order. It lets our team review your entrance, take exact measurements on site, and agree on a written specification before anything is manufactured. This keeps the final door accurate, safe, and matched to your building.
Why begin with a design consultation
Choosing a metal door involves more than picking a color. The style, opening size, security needs, swing direction, and how the door meets the wall all affect the result. A design consultation brings these points together in one conversation so nothing is left to guesswork.
At Techno Kol Uzi, the consultation is where your ideas take shape. You can bring photos of your entrance, a sketch, or a design you like, and we explain which options suit your space and your budget of effort and time.
What happens at the first meeting
The first step is an inquiry where you share photos and a short description of your entrance. We review them and confirm whether a site visit is needed to answer your questions properly.
- Review of your photos and preferred style
- Discussion of materials, iron or aluminum, and finishes
- Advice on security, privacy, and daily use
- Confirmation of the next step
On-site measurement
Accurate measurement is what makes a metal door fit correctly. Our team visits your property and records the opening width and height at several points, checks whether the wall is level and plumb, and notes the swing direction, threshold condition, and nearby obstacles.
Measuring on site rather than from memory prevents most fitting problems later. Any irregularities in the wall are recorded so the door is built to the real opening, not an idealized one.
Drawing and written specification
After measuring, we prepare a drawing of the door and a written specification. The drawing shows the layout, frame profile, panel pattern, and hardware positions. The specification lists the materials, finish, locking elements, and installation details in plain language.
You review both documents before we proceed. If anything needs adjusting, such as the panel design or handle position, it is changed at this stage, when changes are simple and inexpensive to make.
Client approval and production
Nothing goes into production until you give written approval of the drawing and specification. This step protects both sides: you know exactly what will be delivered, and we build to an agreed plan.
Once approved, the door is manufactured in our Tel Aviv factory at 37 Rival Street. Iron and aluminum components are cut, welded or assembled, and checked against the drawing. Finishing steps such as hot-dip galvanizing or powder coating are then applied to protect the door in the Israeli climate.
Installation and final check
Installation is carried out by our team once the door is ready. We confirm that the frame is plumb and level, that the door swings freely, and that the locking mechanism engages smoothly. Gaps, alignment, and hardware operation are checked before we finish.
Where a railing or related element must meet a standard such as the Israeli railing standard SI 1142, we confirm the exact values with the responsible engineer rather than relying on general assumptions.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be present for the measurement?
It is helpful if you or someone familiar with the entrance can be present, so questions about swing direction and daily use can be answered on the spot. Please let us know in advance if access is needed.
Can I change the design after I see the drawing?
Yes, you can request changes to the drawing and specification before approving it. Once you approve, production begins, so it is best to finalize details at this stage.
Is iron or aluminum better for an entrance door?
Both are suitable, and the right choice depends on the look you want, the weight and size of the door, and how it will be used. We explain the differences during the consultation so you can decide with confidence.
How do I start the process?
Send us photos of your entrance and a short description of what you have in mind. We will reply and arrange the next step, whether that is a call or a site visit.
Common mistakes to avoid
Ordering a door from memory measurements or a photo alone often leads to fitting problems. Skipping the written specification and approval step can also result in a door that differs from what you expected.
Our recommendation
Measure the opening yourself only as a rough reference, then let the on-site measurement set the final dimensions. Before approving the drawing, check the swing direction, handle height, and finish against your daily use.
Summary
A design consultation covers your needs, an on-site measurement, a drawing and written specification, and your approval before production. This process gives you an accurately fitted iron or aluminum door built to the plan you agreed on.
