Fence Delivery and Site Access: What Contractors Must Prepare
t306-46

Fence delivery goes smoothly when the site is measured, the drawings are approved, and a clear route for trucks and materials is ready before production ends. Confirm gate widths, turning space, and ground conditions in advance so the load can be unloaded and carried to the installation point safely. Coordinating these steps with the factory avoids delays and damage to finished pieces.
Start with an On-Site Measurement
Every fence we make is built to measure, so the process starts on site. A measurement visit confirms openings, post positions, slopes, and the height the fence must reach. Measuring before anything is cut prevents costly rework.
Contractors should have the following ready for the measurer:
- Plans marked with the fence line and gate locations
- Access points for people and vehicles
- Existing walls, posts, or concrete bases to be reused
Photos taken from several angles help us understand the site before we arrive.
Confirm the Drawing and Written Specification
After measuring, we prepare a drawing and a written specification covering dimensions, profiles, finish, and fixings. Please read both carefully and confirm the gate swing, handing of the gate, and any electrical or automation needs. For railings and guarding, the Israeli standard SI 1142 applies, and exact values are checked with your engineer before approval.
Written client approval is required before production starts, so changes are made now rather than on site.
Plan Site Access for Delivery Trucks
Fence panels, posts, and gates are long and must be handled carefully. Plan a clear route from the road to the installation area and check the following:
- Gate and entrance widths for the longest piece
- Turning space and a safe spot for the truck to stop
- Overhead cables, trees, and low structures
- Ground that can bear the vehicle without sinking
Tell us in advance if access is restricted, such as narrow streets or limited delivery hours.
Production and Finishing in the Factory
Once the specification is approved, components are cut, welded, and assembled at our workshop at 37 Rival Street, Tel Aviv. Iron and steel parts are hot-dip galvanized for corrosion protection, then powder coated in the chosen colour. Aluminum parts receive their own finishing as specified.
Because finishing takes time, the delivery date depends on the production schedule. Ask us for the planned timeline when you place your order.
Delivery Coordination and Storage on Site
Before the truck arrives, confirm who will receive the load and where it will be placed. Keep materials off bare soil, under cover if possible, and away from construction traffic. Protective film on coated pieces should stay on until installation to prevent scratches.
Check the delivery against the packing list, and note any damage on the delivery note before the driver leaves.
Installation and Final Inspection
Installation begins once the posts and bases are ready and the site is accessible to the installers. Lifting heavy panels needs enough people or equipment, and gates should be hung and tested for smooth movement and correct latching. Fixings should be checked for tightness and alignment.
A final walkthrough with the contractor or building committee confirms that the fence matches the approved specification before handover.
Frequently asked questions
What information should I send before a fence delivery?
Send the site plan, photos, gate and access widths, and the approved drawing. This helps us plan production and the route for the delivery.
Do I need to be present at delivery?
Someone authorized to receive the goods should be on site. They can check the load against the packing list and note any damage immediately.
Where should fence materials be stored on site?
Keep them off bare soil, away from construction traffic, and covered if possible. Leave protective film on until installation.
Can access restrictions affect the delivery date?
Yes, narrow streets, limited hours, or tight turning space can change the plan. Tell us about these restrictions early so we can arrange the delivery.
Common mistakes to avoid
Ordering before the site is measured, or skipping the drawing approval, often leads to pieces that do not fit the opening. Blocked access on delivery day can also force the load to be unloaded far from the installation point.
Our recommendation
Send us photos and gate widths at the start, and walk the route with the driver before delivery day. Clear communication at each step keeps the project on schedule.
Summary
Good fence delivery depends on accurate measurement, an approved drawing, a clear access route, and proper storage on site. Coordinating these steps with the factory keeps installation on track.
