Ordering Aluminum Windows: Steps From Approval to Production
t404-47

Ordering aluminum windows at Techno Kol Uzi follows a clear sequence: you send photos and an inquiry, we measure on site, you approve a written drawing and specification, and then we manufacture to measure in our Tel Aviv factory. Finishing and installation come last, once the approved order is ready.
Step 1: Send Your Inquiry and Photos
Every order starts with a simple inquiry. Send us photos of the openings you want to fill, along with a short description of what you need: the number of windows, the rooms they serve, and any preferences for opening style or colour. Photos taken straight on, and one or two from a slight angle, help us understand the wall and the surroundings before we visit.
If you already know which architectural drawings or design details apply to your building, include them too. The more information we have at this stage, the more accurate our first conversation will be.
Step 2: On-Site Measurement
Our team visits the site to measure each opening. Measuring on site is essential, because walls are rarely perfectly square and existing openings often vary in size from one floor to the next. We record width and height at several points, check the depth of the reveal, and note how the window will sit against the surrounding structure.
- Measurements taken at multiple points per opening
- Notes on the wall material and the fixing surface
- Photos of the installation area for our records
Step 3: Drawing and Written Specification
Based on the measurements, we prepare a drawing for each window and a written specification. The drawing shows dimensions, opening direction and layout. The specification lists the profile type, glazing, hardware, and finish, so there is no room for guesswork later.
Take time to read both documents carefully. Check every dimension against what you expect, and ask us about anything that is unclear before you approve.
Step 4: Client Approval
Production begins only after you approve the drawing and specification in writing. This step protects both sides: once the windows are cut and assembled to your approved dimensions, changes become costly. If you want an adjustment, tell us at this stage and we will issue a revised drawing for your review.
Approval is also the point where we confirm the scope, so you know exactly what is included before the work starts.
Step 5: Factory Production and Finishing
Once approved, the windows are manufactured in our factory on Rival Street in Tel Aviv. Aluminum profiles are cut, assembled, and glazed to the approved drawing. Finishing follows the specification you signed off on, and we check each unit against the drawing before it leaves the workshop.
Working in our own factory means we can keep close control over quality from cutting to final inspection.
Step 6: Installation and Handover
Our installation team fits the windows on site, sets them level and plumb, and seals the perimeter so they perform as intended. We check that every window opens, closes and locks properly before we finish. Handover is complete when you have inspected the work and are satisfied with it.
- Level and plumb fixing check
- Sealing and clean-up of the work area
- Functional check of every opening sash
Frequently asked questions
How long does the whole process take?
Timing depends on the number of windows, the current production schedule and site access. Your contact person will give you a realistic plan once the drawing is approved.
Can I change the design after I approve the drawing?
Changes are possible before production starts, and we will issue a revised drawing for your approval. Once cutting has begun, changes become difficult and may affect the schedule.
Do I need to be home for the measurement?
It helps if someone can give our team access to the openings and point out any special conditions. Let us know in advance so we can plan the visit.
Who installs the windows?
Our own installation team fits the windows on site, so the factory and the installers work from the same approved drawing.
Common mistakes to avoid
The most common mistake is approving a drawing without checking each dimension against the actual opening. Review the drawing carefully before signing, because corrections are far easier before production than after.
Our recommendation
Measure the opening yourself as well and compare it with the drawing, especially the width at the top and bottom of each window. Any small difference is far easier to correct before the approval than after production.
Summary
Ordering aluminum windows from Techno Kol Uzi moves from inquiry and photos through on-site measurement, drawing approval, factory production and finishing, to installation and handover. Each stage is confirmed in writing so you always know where your order stands.
