Preparing Your Site for Security Bar Installation
t264-22

To prepare your site for security bar installation, clear access to every window and balcony, make sure the wall surfaces are accessible and sound, and have your openings measured before production starts. A few simple steps before the crew arrives let the installation go smoothly on the first visit.
Start with the on-site measurement visit
Before any bar is made, our team comes to your home to measure each opening. The measurement is what the whole order depends on, so it is worth being present or having someone with authority over the property available to let us in.
Point out every window and balcony you want covered, and tell us about any openings you plan to change later. We measure the frame, the wall depth and the clear opening, then write a specification for your approval.
Clear access to windows and balconies
Move furniture, plants, curtains rods and stored items away from the windows and balcony edges. Our crew needs room to work on the frame, drill fixing points and check the surrounding wall.
- Clear the floor area in front of each window.
- Remove balcony furniture and loose items from the railing zone.
- Make sure pets are kept in a separate room during the visit.
Check the wall and frame condition
Security bars are fixed to the wall or frame, so the surface needs to be sound. Look for cracks, loose plaster, damp patches or rotten wood around the openings and mention them when we visit.
If the frame is damaged or the wall has a defect, tell us before the drawing is approved. We will note it in the specification so the fixing method can be planned properly, and any repair work can be scheduled separately.
Confirm the design and approve the drawing
After the measurement we prepare a drawing and a written specification showing bar layout, profile type, spacing and finish. Please read it carefully and check the openings, the direction of any opening sash and the position of hardware.
Approval happens in writing. Once you confirm, the job moves to production, so any changes should be raised at this stage rather than during installation.
What happens in the factory
Once approved, the bars are cut, welded and assembled in our Tel Aviv workshop on Rival Street. Iron work is then finished, typically with hot-dip galvanizing and powder coating, to protect it against weather.
Production is done to the measured sizes, so accurate measurement is the key to a good fit. We check each piece before it leaves the factory.
Installation day at your home
On installation day the crew arrives with the finished bars and fixing materials. Keep the access areas clear as described above, and let the crew know about any special requests, such as working hours or parking for the van.
Once installed, the crew checks that each bar is secure, that opening sashes still work and that the finish is clean. Ask us to walk through the result with you before the crew leaves.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be home during the measurement visit?
It is best to be present or have someone authorized to let the team in. Being there lets you point out openings and discuss the layout on the spot.
What should I do if my wall has cracks near a window?
Tell us during the visit so we can assess the fixing method. Any structural repair should be dealt with before or alongside the installation.
Can I change the design after the drawing is approved?
Changes are best raised before approval. Once production starts, modifications can be difficult and may require a new specification.
How much space do you need inside the apartment?
Enough room to work safely on each window and balcony. Clearing the floor and removing furniture near the openings is usually all that is needed.
Common mistakes to avoid
The most common mistakes are leaving furniture or curtains in the way and not mentioning damp or cracked walls. Both can delay the crew and affect how the bars are fixed.
Our recommendation
Walk through your home before the visit and list every opening you want covered, noting any that open in an unusual way. Having this ready makes the measurement faster and the specification more accurate.
Summary
Clear access, a sound wall surface and an accurate measurement are the foundation of a smooth security bar installation. Approve the drawing carefully before production begins.
