Steps in Our Balcony Railing Production Process

t320-2

t320-2

A balcony railing is made in six stages: inquiry with photos, on-site measurement, a written drawing and specification, client approval, fabrication in our Tel Aviv factory, and finishing followed by installation. Each stage checks the one before it, so the railing fits the balcony exactly and meets the required safety standards.

Step 1: Inquiry and Photos

Every project starts with a simple inquiry. Send us photos of the balcony, the wall or slab edge, and the style you have in mind. Photos help us understand the site before we visit, including nearby walls, existing tiles, and access for the crew.

Tell us what you want the railing to achieve: privacy, a clean look, a glass infill, or a traditional iron pattern. This early information shapes the design and avoids surprises later.

Step 2: On-Site Measurement

A technician visits the balcony to measure it directly. We record the length of each side, the height of the wall or slab edge, corners, angles, and any obstacles such as drains, lights, or uneven surfaces.

  • Length and height of every section
  • Fixing points and wall material
  • Corners, angles and level differences

Measuring on site is the most important step, because a railing can only be as accurate as the numbers taken there.

Step 3: Drawing and Specification

Using the measurements, we prepare a drawing and a written specification. The drawing shows the layout, post positions, pattern, and infill. The specification lists materials, profile sizes, finish, and fixing method.

For railing heights and load requirements we follow the Israeli railing standard SI 1142 in general terms, and the exact values are confirmed with the engineer for your building. We do not guess at structural details.

Step 4: Client Approval

Nothing goes into production until you approve the drawing and specification. We walk you through the design so you know exactly what will be delivered, including colors, patterns, and how the railing will be attached.

If your building has a committee or an architect, we can share the drawing with them as well. Approval in writing protects both sides and keeps the project on schedule.

Step 5: Fabrication in the Factory

Once approved, the parts are cut, shaped and welded in our factory on Rival Street in Tel Aviv. Working in the workshop gives us control over alignment, weld quality and dimensions, which is hard to achieve on a balcony.

Each section is checked against the drawing before it leaves the factory. Parts that do not match the measurements are corrected at this stage, not on your balcony.

Step 6: Finishing and Installation

Finished parts are treated for long-term protection, typically hot-dip galvanizing and powder coating, and then delivered to site. Our installers fix the posts and sections, check levels and alignment, and clean the work area before leaving.

After installation we review the result with you. Any adjustment needed is handled before the project is closed, so the railing performs as planned for years.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the whole process take?

The timeline depends on the size of the project and the current workload. We confirm the schedule once the drawing has been approved.

Do I need to be home for the measurement?

It helps to be present so you can point out preferences and any site details. If that is not possible, arrange access with someone who knows the balcony well.

Can I change the design after approval?

Changes are possible before production starts. Once fabrication begins, changes may affect the schedule, so it is best to review the drawing carefully first.

Why is the railing made in the factory instead of on site?

Factory work gives better precision, cleaner welds and consistent finishing. Final fitting is still done on site to match the building exactly.

Common mistakes to avoid

A common mistake is approving a design without checking the measurements and fixing details carefully. Another is choosing a finish without considering exposure to sun, salt air and rain on the balcony.

Our recommendation

Before approving your drawing, ask for the post positions, the fixing method and the finish in writing. Clear details at this stage prevent most problems during installation.

Summary

Our balcony railing process runs from inquiry and on-site measurement through drawing, approval, factory fabrication, finishing and installation, with checks at every stage.
