Submitting Your Steel Frame Drawings for Estimation
t488-41

To get a steel frame estimation, send your drawings with dimensions, load notes, and finish requirements to our Tel Aviv factory at Rival Street 37. We verify measurements on site when needed, return a written specification for your approval, and only then move into production.
What to Include in Your Drawing Package
A complete package lets us estimate accurately the first time. Send drawings in PDF or DWG with clear dimensions, the structure's location, and the connection details you expect.
- Plan, elevation and section views with grid lines and levels
- Member sizes and profile types if already decided
- Load assumptions or the structural engineer's name for confirmation
- Finish requirements such as hot-dip galvanizing or powder coating
- Installation constraints, access routes and fixing points in the existing structure
Incomplete drawings are not a problem; we will note open questions in our reply.
On-Site Measurement Before Drawing
Where the frame connects to existing construction, we recommend an on-site measurement. Dimensions taken from older plans often differ from what is built, and small gaps cause costly rework in the factory.
Our team checks openings, levels, wall thickness and anchor positions. Measurements are recorded and added to the drawing set so that the fabricated parts fit the actual building.
Drawing and Written Specification
After review, we prepare a fabrication drawing and a written specification. The specification lists materials, profiles, connection methods, finishing steps and the scope of work, so both sides share the same understanding.
What the specification covers
Material grades, member profiles, welding or bolting details, surface treatment and installation responsibilities are all written out. Any item outside the scope is stated clearly.
Client Approval Before Production
Nothing goes to the workshop until you approve the drawing and specification in writing. Please review dimensions, connection details and finishes carefully, and mention any changes in the same message.
Changes made at this stage are quick and inexpensive. Changes made after cutting or galvanizing are not, so a careful review here saves time for everyone.
Production and Finishing at the Factory
Once approved, the frame is cut, shaped and assembled in our Tel Aviv workshop, which has operated since 1945. Parts are checked against the drawing before finishing.
- Cutting and forming to drawing dimensions
- Welding and assembly with dimensional checks
- Hot-dip galvanizing or powder coating as specified
Finished parts are labeled by position so installation runs smoothly on site.
Delivery and Installation
Installation planning starts with the drawing set. We confirm lifting points, access and fixing details before delivery so the crew arrives prepared. Where the scope includes installation, our team fixes the frame to the building as shown in the approved drawings.
For structural loads and fixing requirements, we work with your structural engineer, who confirms the final values. We do not replace that review.
Frequently asked questions
Can I send hand sketches instead of CAD drawings?
Yes, clear hand sketches with dimensions are acceptable for a first inquiry. We will redraw them and send the drawing back for your approval before production.
Do I need a structural engineer's approval first?
For most structures it is best to have the engineer confirm loads and member sizes. We can work from the engineer's drawings or your specification.
How do you confirm measurements for an existing building?
We visit the site, measure openings and levels, and record the results on the drawing. You receive the measured drawing for approval before fabrication.
Can I request changes after approval?
Changes are possible before production starts. After cutting or galvanizing has begun, changes may require new parts, so please review carefully before approving.
Common mistakes to avoid
Sending drawings without dimensions or skipping the on-site check are the most common causes of misfit parts. Approving the specification without reading the finish and connection details can also lead to delays.
Our recommendation
Mark the fixing points and access routes on your drawing and ask for an on-site measurement when the frame connects to existing concrete or steel. This small step prevents most installation problems.
Summary
Send complete drawings, allow an on-site check where needed, approve the written specification, and production follows in our Tel Aviv workshop.
