Gate Order Lead Time: Stages from Confirmation to Delivery
t278-26

A gate order moves through several stages: inquiry, on-site measurement, drawing and written specification, client approval, factory production, finishing and installation. Each stage depends on the one before, so the earliest stages, especially measurement and approval, largely decide when the gate can be installed. Planning these stages early helps you match the gate to your construction schedule.
Stage 1: Inquiry and Photos
The process starts when you send us photos of the opening or yard, along with a short description of what you need: a swing gate, a sliding gate, or an electric parking gate. Clear photos from a few angles help us understand the site before anyone visits.
Tell us early if the gate has to match existing railings, fences or a specific finish. This lets us plan the design from the first conversation and avoids changes later.
Stage 2: On-Site Measurement
Once the inquiry is clear, our team visits the site to measure the opening, check the ground level, and note the posts, walls and any obstacles. Measurements taken on site are the basis for everything that follows.
- Clear width and height of the opening
- Ground slope and surface type
- Position of posts, walls and utilities
If construction on the site is still in progress, we recommend measuring again once the final finishes are in place.
Stage 3: Drawing and Written Specification
Based on the measurements, we prepare a drawing and a written specification covering dimensions, materials, opening direction, hardware and finish. You review these documents before production starts, so there are no surprises when the gate arrives.
Where a building committee, architect or contractor is involved, the drawing can be shared with them for approval as well.
Stage 4: Client Approval
Production begins only after you approve the drawing and specification in writing. Reviewing carefully at this point saves time, because a change made after production has started takes longer to handle.
Check the dimensions against your site, confirm the finish and the hardware, and tell us about any requirements from your building committee or permit process.
Stage 5: Factory Production and Finishing
After approval, the gate is manufactured in our factory on Rival Street in Tel Aviv. Parts are cut, welded and assembled to the approved dimensions. Where the design calls for it, the gate then goes through finishing such as hot-dip galvanizing or powder coating, and the curing and handling times of these processes are built into the schedule.
Stage 6: Delivery and Installation
When the gate is finished, we arrange delivery and installation at your site. Before installation, make sure the posts, concrete and any electrical connections for an automatic gate are ready, so our team can complete the work in one visit.
Once installed, we check alignment, opening, and locks or motor operation with you before handover.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a gate order take from confirmation to delivery?
The total time depends on the gate type, the finish and the current workload, so we give a timeline after the drawing is approved. Confirming the measurements and approval early is the biggest factor you control.
Can I plan the gate around my construction schedule?
Yes. Tell us your target installation date at the start, and we can work backward through the stages to see whether it fits. Measuring after the final finishes are in place avoids a second visit.
What can delay a gate order?
Late approval, changes to the design after production starts, and posts or concrete that are not ready at installation are the most common causes of delay. Reviewing the drawing carefully prevents most of them.
Do I need to be present for measurement and installation?
It helps to be present or to have someone who can make decisions on site. This speeds up measurement questions and makes the handover smoother.
Common mistakes to avoid
Approving the drawing without checking dimensions against the actual site, and starting construction work on the posts before the gate's exact size is confirmed, are the most common causes of delay.
Our recommendation
Send the measurement request as early as possible, confirm the drawing in writing, and make sure posts and any electrical connections are ready before the installation date. Ask us to check the local railing and safety requirements, such as those in the Israeli standard SI 1142, with your engineer.
Summary
A gate order follows a clear sequence from inquiry to installation, and approval and site readiness are what you control most. Planning these stages early keeps the gate aligned with your construction schedule.
