Requesting a Gate Quote: What Information to Provide

t278-27

t278-27

To request a gate quotation that is accurate, send clear photos of the opening, precise width and height measurements, and details about how the gate will open and what it must do. The more complete your inquiry, the fewer revisions and surprises you will face before production begins.

Start with clear photos of the opening

Photos are the fastest way to show us what you have in mind. Take a straight-on picture of the entire opening, then a few close-ups of the posts or wall where the gate will be fixed. Include the area around the opening so we can see the fence, the ground slope, and any nearby walls or trees.

If you already have an image of a style you like, send that too. A sketch with rough dimensions works just as well as a professional drawing.

Measure the opening correctly

Measure the clear width between the posts or walls, not the width of the existing gate. Measure the height at both the left and right side, because ground levels are rarely perfectly flat. Note the thickness of the posts and whether they are brick, concrete, or metal.

  • Clear width at top, middle, and bottom
  • Height at both sides
  • Ground slope direction, if any

Write down every number you take, even if two readings differ slightly.

Explain how the gate will operate

Decide whether you want a swing gate, a sliding gate, or a folding gate, and say which way it should open. Consider whether you need pedestrian access in addition to a vehicle gate, and whether the gate should be manual or motorized.

For motorized solutions, tell us about the power supply, whether a remote or keypad is needed, and if there is space for the drive mechanism. For a sliding gate, measure the free space on the side where the gate will run, since it must travel beyond the opening.

Describe the style, material and finish

Tell us the look you prefer: simple vertical bars, decorative patterns, solid panels, or a combination with glass or aluminum. Mention the color or finish you like and whether the gate should match existing fences, railings, or windows.

Our work is made to measure in our Tel Aviv workshop, and we can discuss suitable materials and finishes such as hot-dip galvanizing or powder coating. Share how the gate will be used, because privacy, durability, and maintenance needs all shape the best choice.

Share site access and installation details

Installation goes more smoothly when we know the conditions on site. Tell us whether there is vehicle access for delivery, whether the area is paved or unpaved, and if there are any obstacles such as cables, pipes, or planters near the posts.

  • Access route for delivery
  • Floor type at the gate location
  • Existing posts, and whether they are sound
  • Preferred installation days or time windows

Follow the process from inquiry to installation

After we receive your details, we usually arrange an on-site measurement so the drawing reflects reality. You then receive a written specification for approval before production starts. Once approved, the gate is manufactured in our factory, finished with the chosen coating, and installed at your property.

Clear answers at the start shorten each of these steps. If something is unclear, it is better to ask before we cut any material than to fix it later.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to measure before sending a request?

Rough measurements are helpful, but an on-site measurement is what makes the final specification accurate. Send your estimates now so we can plan the visit.

Can I send a request if I am not sure about the gate type?

Yes. Describe how you want to use the entrance and we can suggest suitable types, such as swing, sliding, or folding.

What if my posts are damaged or uneven?

Photograph them and mention the condition in your inquiry. We will assess them during the site visit and advise whether they need repair or replacement.

Is the drawing included before I approve the order?

Yes. You receive a drawing and written specification for your approval before any production begins.

Common mistakes to avoid

Many requests are delayed by measuring the existing gate instead of the clear opening, or by forgetting to mention how the gate should swing. Missing these details often leads to revisions after production has started.

Our recommendation

Measure the opening at three heights and write every reading down, then photograph the posts and surroundings from several angles. Include your preferred opening direction and any future plans, such as adding an automation system, so the gate is designed correctly the first time.

Summary

A complete request with accurate measurements, photos, operating details, and site information leads to a faster and more reliable gate quotation.
