Steel Frame Production Process: How Our Workshop Builds Your Frame
t488-2

The steel frame production process starts with an inquiry and on-site measurement, followed by a drawing and written specification that the client approves. The frame is then cut, welded and finished in our Tel Aviv workshop before being installed on site. Each stage is checked so the final frame fits the opening and the design.
Step 1: Inquiry and Photos
Every project begins with a simple inquiry. Send us photos of the opening or the area where the frame will go, together with a short description of how it will be used. Photos help us understand the surroundings, the wall material and any access limits before we visit.
If you already have plans from an architect or interior designer, share them as well. Private homeowners, building committees, contractors and designers all follow the same first step, so the process stays clear for everyone involved.
Step 2: On-Site Measurement
Our team visits the site to measure the opening exactly as it is built, not as it appears on paper. Walls are rarely perfectly straight or level, so we record actual dimensions at several points. These readings decide how the frame is shaped and fixed.
- Opening width and height at top, middle and bottom
- Wall material and depth for the fixing method
- Floor levels and any obstacles nearby
Step 3: Drawing and Specification
Based on the measurements, we prepare a drawing and a written specification. The drawing shows the frame profile, joints and fixing points. The specification lists the materials, the finish and the installation details in plain language.
Structural matters such as load and anchoring are reviewed with the engineer, who confirms the required values. We do not guess these figures, so the drawing is only released once the design is sound.
Step 4: Client Approval
Nothing goes into production until you approve the drawing and specification. Take your time to check dimensions, the position of the frame and the finish you have chosen. Changes are easier to make at this stage than after cutting and welding.
Once you confirm in writing, the job is scheduled in the workshop and we move on to fabrication.
Step 5: Factory Production and Finishing
In the factory, steel sections are cut to length, fitted to the drawing and welded into a rigid frame. Each piece is checked against the measurements so that the frame squares up correctly. Corners and joints are ground smooth for a clean appearance.
- Cutting and fitting to the approved drawing
- Welding and dimensional checks
- Hot-dip galvanizing or powder coating for protection
Step 6: Installation on Site
The finished frame is delivered and installed by our team. We set it level and plumb, fix it to the structure and check that it operates as intended. Where a frame carries a gate or door, we confirm smooth movement before leaving.
After installation we review the work with you, so any small adjustment can be handled at once.
Frequently asked questions
How long does the steel frame production process take?
The timing depends on the size of the project and the current workload in the workshop. We confirm the schedule once the drawing has been approved.
Do you measure the opening before quoting or drawing?
Yes. We always measure on site so the drawing reflects the real opening, which may differ from the plans.
Which finishes protect steel frames?
We offer hot-dip galvanizing and powder coating, which both help protect steel from corrosion. We will recommend the right finish for your location and use.
Can I change the design after approving the drawing?
Changes are possible but are easiest before production starts. Please tell us as early as you can so we can update the drawing.
Common mistakes to avoid
A common mistake is measuring the opening only once from plans or from memory, which can lead to a frame that does not fit. Approving a drawing without checking the dimensions and finish carefully also causes avoidable changes later.
Our recommendation
Measure the opening yourself at three heights and widths before contacting us, and note any uneven walls. Send these numbers with your photos so the drawing starts from accurate information.
Summary
Our steel frame production process runs from photos and on-site measurement to drawing, approval, factory fabrication, finishing and installation. Each stage keeps the final frame accurate and durable.
