Booking an On-Site Measurement Visit for Security Bars

t264-39

t264-39

To book a measurement visit for security bars, send us photos and a short description of your windows or balconies, and we will arrange a technician to come to your site. During the visit we measure each opening, check the wall and frame conditions, and agree on the design before any production starts.

Why an On-Site Measurement Visit Matters

Security bars are made to measure, and a window or balcony opening is rarely a perfect rectangle. Walls can be out of plumb, frames can be slightly skewed, and existing tiles or plaster can change the usable dimensions. A technician who stands in front of the opening sees these details that a photo cannot show.

The visit also lets us discuss how the bars will open for emergency egress, where fixings will go, and how the design will sit with the building's appearance. Measuring once, carefully, saves rework later.

How to Request a Visit

Start with a simple inquiry. Include clear photos of each window or balcony, taken straight on and from a short distance, and note the floor, the orientation, and any access issues such as a locked building entrance or a scheduling window.

  • Photos of every opening you want covered
  • A rough sketch or the number of openings
  • Your preferred days and times
  • Contact details for the person who will be on site

What Happens During the Measurement

The technician checks each opening's width and height at several points, since older walls often vary. The type of frame, the wall material, and the depth available for fixings are recorded. Where bars will go on a balcony, the railing condition and the floor finish are also noted.

You are welcome to point out anything you want protected or anything you want to avoid, such as a specific window that opens often or a plant ledge. These comments go straight into the drawing.

From Drawing to Your Written Approval

After the visit we prepare a drawing and a written specification showing the bar layout, profile type, fixing method, and finish. Nothing goes into production until you have reviewed and approved these documents.

Please read the drawing carefully and confirm the opening direction, the bar spacing, and the finish colour. A short review at this stage prevents misunderstandings later.

Production, Finishing, and Installation

Once approved, the bars are cut, welded, and assembled in our factory on Rival Street in Tel Aviv. Iron elements can be hot-dip galvanized and powder coated for long-term protection, while aluminum components are finished to match the rest of the project.

Installation is then scheduled. Our team fixes the bars to the wall or frame and checks that each one operates correctly, including any required emergency release mechanism.

Preparing Your Home for the Visit

A few simple steps make the visit faster. Clear the area around the windows and balcony edges, make sure the technician can access every room, and have any existing plans or building information ready if you have them.

If the building has a committee or managing body, check whether they need to approve external works before the visit, so that the schedule is not delayed.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be home during the measurement visit?

Yes, it is best that an adult who can make decisions is present, so that access and design questions can be answered on the spot. We can arrange a suitable time with you in advance.

How long does a measurement visit take?

The length depends on the number of openings and their complexity. A typical home visit covers all openings in one session, and the technician will tell you the expected duration when you book.

Can I see the drawing before production begins?

Yes, you receive a drawing and a written specification after the visit. Production only starts once you have approved them in writing.

Is the visit the same for balconies as for windows?

Not exactly. Balconies require checking the railing, the floor, and the fixing points on the slab or wall, so the technician also looks at those details.

Common mistakes to avoid

Booking a visit without clear photos or with unclear opening sizes often leads to repeat trips. Approving a drawing without checking the bar spacing and opening direction is another common error that causes costly changes later.

Our recommendation

Prepare photos of every opening before you call, and ask the technician to show you the measurements on the drawing before you approve it. Taking five minutes to compare the drawing with the actual openings is the most effective way to avoid surprises.

Summary

Booking a measurement visit is the first real step toward well-fitted security bars. A careful on-site measurement, a clear drawing, and your written approval together ensure the final installation fits and works as intended.
