Steel Staircase Measurement Service Request: How It Works
t390-26

A staircase measurement service means our team visits your site, records the exact dimensions of the opening, rise, run and surrounding walls, and turns them into a drawing for a custom steel staircase. Accurate on-site measurement is what makes the stairs fit correctly the first time. You can start by sending photos and a short description, and we will arrange the visit.
Why an On-Site Measurement Matters
A steel staircase is made to fit one specific space, so the measurements must be taken where the stairs will actually stand. Floors are rarely perfectly level, walls are not always straight, and openings can differ from the architectural plans. Measuring on site lets us see these real conditions before anything is cut or welded.
Relying only on drawings can lead to small gaps, awkward landings or a staircase that does not clear the ceiling. A visit at the start of the project is one of the simplest ways to avoid costly corrections later.
What Our Team Measures
During the visit we record the key dimensions that determine the staircase geometry and how it attaches to the building.
- Total floor-to-floor height and the number of steps required
- Available width and length of the staircase opening
- Wall and ceiling clearances, including any beams or ducts
- Landing sizes and the position of the top and bottom connections
- Fixing points, floor finish thickness and the type of wall or slab
We also note where handrails or balustrades will run, so the entire structure is planned as one unit.
From Measurement to Drawing and Approval
After the visit, we prepare a drawing and a written specification based on the measurements. The drawing shows the layout, step geometry, structure and railing position, and the specification lists materials and finishes in plain terms.
You review the drawing and tell us about any changes you want. Nothing goes into production until you approve the plan, so you know exactly what will be built before work begins.
Production in Our Factory
Once the plan is approved, the steel elements are cut, shaped and welded in our workshop at Rival Street 37 in Tel Aviv. Working in the factory allows precise fabrication and quality checks before the staircase leaves the site of production.
Finishing follows production. Depending on the design, the steel may receive hot-dip galvanizing or powder coating, which protects it against weather and wear and gives a consistent appearance.
Installation at Your Property
Our team delivers the staircase and installs it on site, fixing it to the floors and walls according to the approved plan. Because the measurements were taken carefully beforehand, the installation usually goes smoothly.
Before the work is complete we check alignment, step levels and the security of the fixings, and we review the railings with you so everything is ready for daily use.
Preparing for Your Measurement Visit
A little preparation helps the visit run efficiently. Send us photos of the staircase area and a short description of how you want the stairs to look and where they should go.
- Clear the area so we can access walls and openings
- Note any ceiling height limits or nearby obstacles
- Tell us whether the floor finish is still to be laid
- Share any architectural drawings you already have
The more information we have at the start, the more accurate the plan will be.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be present during the staircase measurement?
It is helpful if someone who knows the property can be there to open access and answer questions. We can arrange a suitable time with you in advance.
Can you measure from photos and drawings only?
Photos and drawings are useful for an initial idea, but we always recommend an on-site measurement, since real conditions often differ from plans. Final dimensions should be taken in person.
What happens after the measurement is completed?
We prepare a drawing and written specification based on the measurements. You review and approve it, and only then does production in our Tel Aviv workshop begin.
Do you install the staircase as well?
Yes, our team delivers and installs the staircase at your property after production and finishing are complete.
Common mistakes to avoid
A common mistake is ordering a staircase from rough estimates or outdated plans without an on-site check. This often leads to a staircase that does not fit the opening or ceiling height.
Our recommendation
Measure or have the staircase measured after the main structural work is finished but before the final floor finish is laid, and confirm the floor-to-floor height with the engineer. Exact values are checked with the engineer.
Summary
A proper on-site staircase measurement is the foundation of a well-fitting steel staircase, leading to a clear drawing, factory production and professional installation.
